Why are we here?

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:06 pm by sbetts

David has asked us to blog on why we came. I came for many many reasons -
I follow David’s blog and conference presentations and really wished to sit in the front row and be part of his presentation tonight. I always learn so many things from just sitting around - sometimes, I think it is techno-osmosis.

Tomorrow, I like the vendors and the sessions. I hope to be able to attend several and present a couple, too. Overall, it is a great two days.

Blogging and Podcasting - web20 session with David Warlick

David started out with an introduction to blogging - taking a survey of the audience for knowledge on wikis, blogs and podcasting.  He progressed into describing the use of

pre-conference wikis to set agendas for sessions.  His scenario was regarding a podcasting session for PodcasterCon where they set their essential questions before the session - they then used these questions as small group discussing topics for small podcasting.  The next day these sessions were being discussed around the world in numerous languages — information has changed!

His online handouts are found at http:/handouts.davidwarlick.com

And we are off and running — stay tuned for a later synopsis.

Getting ready for MainEd

Posted in future paradigms, web2.0 at 8:20 pm by sbetts

I am getting my presentations one on Wikis and another on del.icio.us. Do any of you use either of these in your work or classrooms? If so, would you mind sharing your experiences?
